Who we are
This website and its tools are run under the trading name Active Elements. If you have a question about your information, or you want to use any of your rights below, email hello@activelements.co.uk. We reply within one month.
The short version
You can use every tool on this site without giving us your name, email address or any health information. What you type into the tools stays on your device.
What stays on your device
The protein tracker and the weekly movement check keep your entries in your browser's local storage, so they're still there when you come back. That can include your age, weight and answers about your health. We never receive this information. You can clear it in your browser settings. The blood pressure scale and the stretch routine don't save anything.
The protein tracker also lets you download your records as a file, or, if you choose, save a copy to your own Google Drive. When you do, your browser sends the records straight to a folder called Active Elements in your Drive. We never receive them and we cannot open them. Active Elements can only see the files it creates itself. You can disconnect at any time from the tracker page, or remove access at myaccount.google.com/permissions. The copy stays in your Drive until you delete it.
Google Drive and Google user data
Saving to Google Drive is optional. If you choose it, you sign in with Google and give Active Elements permission to see and manage only the files and folders it creates in your Drive. Google calls this the drive.file permission. We ask for it for one reason: so your browser can save your protein tracker records to your Drive and read them back when you return, which keeps your devices in step. We can't see any other file in your Drive.
Your records go from your browser to your Drive. They don't pass through our server and we keep no copy, so we can't read, sell or share them. We don't use Google user data for advertising. Active Elements' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
You can stop at any time. Press Disconnect in the tracker, or remove Active Elements at myaccount.google.com/permissions. To delete the copy as well, press "Remove my Drive copy and disconnect" in the tracker, or delete the Active Elements folder in your Drive yourself.
If you email us
If you email us, including to join the membership waiting list, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it to reply and, if you asked to join the waiting list, to tell you about membership. Our legal basis is your consent for the waiting list and our legitimate interest in answering your message. We keep waiting list emails until membership launches or you ask us to remove you, whichever comes first.
Cookies and tracking
We don't use advertising cookies or analytics. If that changes, we will ask for your permission first and update this page.
Other companies involved
Our web host, Namecheap, keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, for security. The site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when a page loads.
If you press the button to save a copy of your protein records to Google Drive, your browser loads Google's sign-in script and Google receives your IP address and account details, as it does for any Google sign-in. We don't load that script unless you press the button. Google's own privacy policy applies to your Drive. Your browser also remembers on your device that you connected, and the email address of the Google account you used.
Some pages link to other websites. Their own privacy policies apply once you leave this site.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, to stop using it, or to withdraw your consent. Email us and we'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
